For residents of El Sobrante Valley communities\, including May Valley\, El Sobrante Hills\, Greenbriar\, Castro Heights\, Carriage Hills North/South. After signing up\, you’ll receive more information on what your evacuation zone is\, how to prepare\, logistics for the drill\, and more. \n\n\n\nWhy should you participate? \n\n\n\n\nUnderstand CWS and Nixle alerts\n\n\n\nKnow your evacuation zone\n\n\n\nPractice your evacuation plan\n\n\n\nLearn how to prepare for evacuation\n\n\n\n\n The Evacuation Collection Point will be at the Hilltop Mall. You can then meet with West Contra Costa Fire Safe Council members\, Red Cross\, CERT\, and more\, and learn more about preparing for wildfire and evacuation. DESCRIPTION:Wildfire! What would you do on a red flag day when you smell smoke on the breeze??!  \n\n\n\n\nDon’t panic! Visualize. Plan and Practice!\n\n\n\n\nAn interactive\, community workshop with firefighter advice and many resources to prepare and survive a wildfire.  \n\n\n\nWildfire season is coming and it’s likely to be a bad one with low rainfall this winter\, and high temperatures this spring. What would you do on a red flag day when you smell smoke on the breeze? When would you leave? What would you grab? How would you get out of your neighborhood\, and where would you go? \n\n\n\nShare your ideas in small groups\, then get advice and resources from local firefighters\, online resources\, apps and hand outs to help you build go bags and make a specific plan to get your family\, pets and neighbors to safety. Be part of building a resilient\, well-connected and informed neighborhood. Sue Boudreau will facilitate\, with members of the West Contra Costa Fire Safe Council and Richmond Councilor Bana at the Good Table Gathering Space\, 3:30-5pm\, Sunday\, May 3d. \n\n\n\nGoals: \n\n\n\n– Build community and trust with neighbors and emergency services. \n\n\n\n– Develop an evacuation plan \n\n\n\n– Get preparedness resources \n\n\n\n– Learn about the community communications systems in emergencies – Nixle and CWS \n\n\n\n– Plan your evacuation route.
